No issues. I thought you were looking for lowering the sound levels of the 'pedestrians vehicle alert sound' produced by hybrid/electric vehicles. Which is what I have done with a stick on solution. It works and has reduced the sound levels to a comfortable level for me. Both from inside and outside.

I wish I could change it to another sound. A low rumble of a V8 will do it for me. Should be possible, but I lack the electronics/software knowledge on how to do it on a Hyundai.

I have switched off the pumped in artificial engine sound in Ford explorer ST using OBD port programming. I don't see anything like that available for the Hyundai vehicles. All l saw was a way to access the engineering mode for the info screen. There is every chance of bricking the ECU if you play around, without proper knowledge.

If anyone has it, please share.

Are you planning to do the roof rails and window trims as well?
Roof rails can be done, but it is not bothering me much. So keeping it same till I finish all other parts.

The chrome window surround is tricky, as it runs across many other parts and different material finishes. Masking and cleaning is time consuming because of that.

I have plans for a rain guard/ weather deflector. If I go with a stick-on type, it will cover the top part of that chrome as well. So I'll leave it alone for now.

I have done it in the past and was not very happy with the result. it's my 'Eleanor' and need to be careful with it. 🙂

And what about those wheels?

They're probably my least favourite styling element of the 2023 Hybrid Limited.
I agree. I don't like them either.
I might try something temporary with the color.

But more than the color, its a Wheel+ Tire upgrade that I'm looking at.
I want the wider wheels that fill the wheel well better and with wider tracks.

It is a big ticket item, Cost wise and how it is going to affect the vehicle performance.
It is going to affect aero, unsprang mass, road noise, acceleration and efficiency.
Down the line it can even affect suspension and warranty of related parts.
You are looking at 2400+ dollars for a balanced upgrade. (5000+ if I want to keep the weight in check)

So I will wait till my current tires wear out or I find a good deal, either aftermarket or from Hyundai family itself.
I like the XRT wheels from 4th Gen, and some of the 20 inchers from Palisade.

Some Black wheels I like from Tire Rack

Trial with a Palisade 20 inch gloss black Wheel.

In my case
Advantages
  1. Looks
  2. Protection from small dings from side
  3. Help my young kids get in faster (they are doing ok without it by now)
Disadvantages
  1. Reduced ground clearance
  2. Difficulty to clean
  3. Possibility of rust
  4. Added weight
  5. Can leave marks on you clothing while you enter and exit.
For someone who really need the assistance in getting in, it might be worth it.
Try to get the one they have it in the XRT as it looks better designed to work with Santa Fe
But for me, it is not worth the cost and effort.

Thanx.
for the reply.
I thought they were aluminum.
I think the before ground clearance is 8”
What is after their installation?
I am only looking at Hyundai side steps.
Dealer wants about $900 w/o installation!

I don't have any first hand experience with it. But I know my relative have installed it on his driveway for a Honda.
If you are up for it, YouTube has a lot of installation videos. And you can get the OEM side steps for half the price online and install it yourself.

4th Gen SantaFe spec sheet says 8.2 inch ground clearance. Expect to loose more than inch with the running board.

Am definitely interested. Do you have any
good sites to get a good price.
Pretty sure my son and I can do the install.

While I don't particularly like them, there's no way that I'll spend $2K+ or more to change the wheels and tires. And I'd much rather stay with wheel and tire sizes that the car's suspension, steering and transmission were designed for.

Accessories my SFHL came with
  1. Cargo Shade - Its nice, I replaced the label underneath with my own. Wish hybrid also had a provision to store them under load floor.
  2. Cargo Net - Useful and I wish the trunk had more attachment points.
  3. Carpet Floor Mats - Mine is up for sale as I replaced it with Tux Mat.
  4. Mud Guard - Good to have.
  5. Rear Bumper Applique - Transparent sticker type - For the price I would have likes a higher thickness one
  6. First Aid Kit - Replaced with a custom one and the Kit bag, I use to keep other small things in the central console
  7. Aluminum Valve Caps with NF lettering (Nitrogen filled on the tires)- This should be something dealer has added. They are of good quality, even though not my favorite color
  8. VIN Stickers and Ally Vehicle tracking - Each of the openable part has the VIN number sticker on them and a module attached near the steering column for Vehicle tracking
Is it worth the added 680$?

Not really as they are marked up quiet a bit.
I'm not complaining because, I paid 4k below sticker and all these got baked into the overall deal.
There were no additional charges for 7 and 8, even though some other dealers were charging extra for.

Here are some sticker I am talking about ( some are moved/replaced)

Chrome Delete & Black Out - Front Grille
Cost: 10$ all together
Time: 2 hours (not including curing time)

This was one the first things I wanted to do, but couldn't because of the masking requirements (all around, inside the grille, front camera, inside the emblem). But finally here it is.

My Limited is almost a night edition now. I love it.
Image

The mat Black Grille is making the headlights and front skirting a bit more shiny than before.
Holding back my urge to tint the headlights. Looks vs. Effectiveness 🧐

Image

Yellow (10% reduction in light) vs. Tint (30% reduction) vs. Gun Smoke (60% reduction) on the Lamin-X films.

The mods in my Santa Fe Hybrid Limited is planned so that it gets closer to a Calligraphy in terms of features and closer to an XRT in terms of looks.
My Limited Vs Calligraphy Features
  1. Perforated Leather Steering - Mine is now a thicker leather with perforation and red stitching.
  2. Dark Chrome Grill Finish - Mine is a Mat Black finish now in place of shiny chrome.
  3. Ambient Lighting - Added a one with better footwell lighting and a ton of App controlled features.
  4. 20 inch Wheels - I am looking planning to upsize the tires and possibly the rims as well.
  5. Eco-Suede Headliner - Mélange one is better for me with my kids.
  6. Quilted Napa Leather Seats - I'm happy with Leather seating on Limited
  7. Premium Door Trim - I don't need them and good with the Limited trim
  8. Rear Windows Auto Up/Down - I don't need. But a key fob control for the front would have been nice.
  9. Head-up Display - I liked it, but nothing can be done.
2023 Santa Fe Specifications & Features with all trims attached for reference.
