Engine Problem

Hi, Thx to all who posted and offered their experiences. I am the 2nd owner of a 2013 Santa Fe 2.0t. Got on the expressway, hit the gas and just like that, a blown engine. The dealer said a cylinder had zero compression, thus requiring a complete engine replacement. Unfortunately for me, the vehicle has about 146k miles on it and is not under any kind of warranty.

I was quoted $10500 for a new dealer engine; however, I am trying to weigh my options with a used or remanufactured engine. Many of the online business I have contacted have inventories that say one thing, but a representative that says another. Can anyone recommend a reputable company from whom I can purchase a reliable remanufactured or used engine?

Thank you in advance.
I’m not too keen on how these engines work but did this have anything to do with the recall on the connecting rod with the bearing etc.? Because we had the exact same issue where I lost power on the freeway got it towed to a dealership after a little back-and-forth with the maintenance which they all had they approved us for a brand new engine granted we were at 95,000 miles but they said it fell under the recall.
