I was surprised when taking delivery of my Calligraphy that the complimentary dealer scheduled maintenance for an oil change was set at every 8000 miles. I owned a 4cyl. turbo charged vehicle previously and always changed the oil at 4000 miles. Turbos are known to be hard on oil. After looking at the Bluelink app, I noticed that the 8000 mile oil change interval was predetermined by the dealer based on my driving habits/conditions?There is a drop-down tab on the app that you can select your driving habits and conditions which will determine the mileage intervals for oil changes. The dealer did not inform me of this feature & by making changes on the app you can schedule oil changes to every 3000 miles if necessary. Just wanted to give everybody a heads up to take the time to input your driving conditions on the app to set the correct oil change intervals. I’m giving the dealer a pass on this misstep for now but I will be paying closer attention going forward. Thanks

Yes, the app suggests the same for the hybrid as well
Service every 3k miles if you have repeated shot travel.

But Hyundai will only cover the 8000 mile/ 1 yearly service as complimentary. Rest is on the owner.
I'm planning to do mine at 6 months (I doubt I'll hit 4k by then). I'll see if my extended maintenance plan make any difference.

I just spoke to the service dept. at the dealership that I purchased the car from. The two reps that I spoke to were not aware that by entering your driving conditions on the Bluelink app that your oil change intervals would change. They insisted that 4 oil changes in 3 years at 8000mi intervals were what Hyundai is recommending regardless of what the app recommends? Based on my driving habits/conditions the app is recommending oil changes every 4000 mi for my vehicle. The dealer agreed to change the oil at 4000 mi intervals at no charge with a maximum of (4) oil changes at no cost under the maintenance plan. I find it interesting that Hyundai would assume how & where the owners cars will be driven?

Just to be on the safe side I would get new tires ar 15k. lol I have alway changed oil at recommended mileage/time and probably saved enough for a good down payment on a new car. Had a Cadillac that I changed every 12,000 miles and put on 90,000 and never had to add oil. I've owned 7 cars the past 22 years and have never added oil in any of them.

The owners manual for 23 Hybrid says the following. (2.5T OM might be different)
So in my case (Driving condition A - repeated short distance driving) I don't need to Replace engine oil and filter every 3000 miles.
I only need to keep an eye on the spark plugs and Need to change the Auto Transmission Fluid every 62k miles
Only ATF inspection is needed for Normal service condition vehicles.

I was a bit worried, since the extended maintenance contract (8Y/96k Miles) I took covers only 8k normal service.
This is the information from Hyundai customer service and I'm yet to talk with my Dealer about it.

I would say take an informed decision on early oil changes, based on your use case and judgement.
But for 95% of the people, stick to Hyundai OM recommended service intervals.
