2017 FWD Santa Fe Limited driven first time in heavy rain and heard extremely loud noise from right rear when going through puddled water. No noise on normal wet pavement but only when water is deep enough to splash up onto undercarriage and only on right side. Sounds as if the water is hitting inside the car but obviously is not. Anyone else with this issue?

Haven't noticed it, we get summer rain here almost daily, and an occasional tropical storm... I'll listen for it...

Do you have the mud flaps/guards?

Is it the entire right side, or just front/back?

If it's just one corner, maybe check the piece of "felt" or whatever it is that covers the wheel well. Maybe it's loose or came off somehow?

No mud flaps. Definitely right side only and seems to be to rear of car. Quick check by dealer found nothing but need to return when we have heavy rain.

We experienced the same thing on our 2017 LWB AWD. It sounded like someone was banging on the underside of the car. No flaps here either.
