I am considering buying a 2005 Santa Fe with a 2.7 v6 motor. It has 98K miles and seems to be in good shape but has codes for crank and cam sensor position sensors. It began to run roughly when the sensor codes came up and after parking, it would not restart. My guess and the current owner's guess is timing belt tensioner or timing belt? Would this account for the codes and the no-start condition? Current owner does not believe there was valve interference noise and says engine still cranks smoothly. A cam sensor was replaced but did not fix the problem.
