Hello, First time posting here, so I was hoping someone could help me with a random question. I was helping my father in law with a timing cover replacement on a 2010 Santa Fe GLS, 2.4L AWD, and supposedly there are supposed to be 2 separate Timing Cover Gaskets. one down low and one up by the cams, I'm guessing. We put in the first one lower on the timing cover, but then he assembled the timing cover, and had it all the way up to needing help with getting the belt on the pulleys, when I arrived I saw this little black gasket/seal on the floor, and he said he didn't need it. However, there is a noticeable gap between the timing cover and where that little thing should go. So my question is, should I have him take it all back apart to put the little seal in there, or as he claims, "will be fine without" ?
Personally, I believe it is there for a reason, and we should go back, otherwise what will happen if he carries on with it currently?

Thank you for any help.
