Hi
My '05 Santa Fe has had an intermittent starting problem and my mechanic cant find an answer, although he has been trying different solutions. It starts up fine when the engine is cold, but if I drive a few miles and turn it off it wont turn over. I have to keep trying and it will crank a few times and then stop. If I give it some gas while trying to start it that helps, sometimes. I am sending it to the dealer tomorrow in hopes that they can find and fix the problem. Anyone have a similar experience?

Hi, my wife has a 2002 and had a similar thing happen a few weeks ago. It would act up upon start (stalling, etc.) but then would run fine again until next start. Was throwing a check engine code with it. Our fix was the mass air flow sensor (MAF). Replaced that and now it runs even better than it did before. Is your check engine light on?
