Wife and I are looking for a small/midsize SUV.
Our requirements:
Reliability
Be able to tow 2500 lbs - up hills
best MPG given above requirement

We are seriously considering a Santa Fe - NOT NEW, but maybe 2-3 years old..
Also considering going with a "Certified Pre-Owned" to maintain the extended warranty as we will be keeping the car for a while and wife puts 63 miles a day on the car commuting.

So per our requirements - V6 is needed for the towing power..
What else should we consider in our choices?
This can include other brand/models
Options - like AWD
Any relevant advice..

We would consider a Tucson , but they are all 4 cylinder now.
Also considering a Honda Pilot

Thanx!!!

I have owned 3 Santa Fe's, a 2001, 2006, and now a new 2015 GLS 6 cyl. Why would you NOT buy a used 2014 or 2015? These are fantastic SUVs, and the price is right. They are very well equipped and the 290 HP V6 in the 2015 speaks volumes at full throttle. Test drive one for yourself. NOTE: If you are adding a tow hitch to any Santa Fe get it installed at the dealer! It will cost more but it comes with a necessary oil cooler that the aftermarket units do not have.
