Hi,

I have a Santa Fe (Short Wheel Base or equivalent of SF Sport of US Market) and am looking for getting a "Tow Bar" fitted on it as I want to use a THULE 2-Bike Carrier model is http://www.thule.com/en/in/products...ted-bike-carriers/thule-easyfold-932-_-932000. The bikes I want to carry are the TREK 3900 18" & 19.5".

I have no clue if I should go for a "Tow bar or a Tow Hitch" as I do not know the difference because in India towing industry does not exist at all.

Kindly suggest with some links for the best suitable Tow Bar/Hitch for this light application and which is compatible with the 2014 Santa Fe (see its pic attached)? This TOWBAR only needs to be able to fit a 2 BIKE CYCLE CARRIER onto it & be able to handle its weight. I have no plans whatsoever even in future to tow anything apart for this specified application.

Accordingly could you kindly

- suggest an appropriate TOWBAR suitable for 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe (SWB) which can be used with this THULE 2-Bike Carrier?

- I am not sure if the Indian Santa Fe comes with Electrical outputs to power the Bike Carrier lights. Accordingly if possible you may suggest any Tow Bar without the Electrical Kit as it may just right for me?

- Advise how do I check if my Santa Fe has the ELECTRICAL OUTPUT or not to connect a powered THULE 2-Bike Carrier?

- suggest from where I should buy this THULE EastFold 932 mode in USA?

I import regularly from USA & so should be able to import these items once I know what & from where to buy and till it comes with all installation instructions it should be manageable to get it installed by some garage shop easily.

Thanks in advance for your valuable suggestions?

I would suggest goint to a site like etrailer dot com/Trailer-Hitch/Hyundai/Santa+Fe/2014/C13152.html?vehicleid=201415159
It looks very similar to the Hyundai factory hitch I have on my 2014 Sport. Always go with the 2" reciever as opposed to the 1.25" reciever. Class lll not Class ll. You get greater tongue capacity. Dont go under a 200lb tongue capacity, better to go 500lb and above. It doesnt say on the Thule site what size reciever. Then you will have to get your Santa Fe wired for this Thule carrier.

Thanks Timp for your inputs!

I tried the weblink suggested by you & due to some reason it would not load (I tried in Safari, in Chrome & in Firefox). Can you kindly resend it?

Also I tried the trailer-hitch.com but was completely confused with so many Hitch models available in different sizes & shapes. I surely cannot decide with Tow Hitch to buy on my own as neither does it re-confirm any of the Hitch models suitable for any Vehicle model - like Santa Fe.

Also What All I should be buying along incase of Tow Hitch:
- 1 Tow Hitch Class III with 500 lb or above,
- 1 Ball Mount - what size? &
- 1 Trailer Ball 2"
is what I guessed, Am I correct?

Further I am confused between Tow bar & Tow Hitch - Which out of these two I should be buying for my Thule specified application - Kindly Guide?

If I do not get my Thule wired & just keep it as a mechanical operation, Hope this should be fine as in India we to wire a Thule won't be necessary & Hyundai will consider warranty as void if I mess-up with any of the electrical wiring. Funny I know but that's the way it is.

Thanks for your valuable help in advance!

Sorry, I got thru Trailer-Hitch website and after selecting vehicle details was send to web link http://trailer-hitch.com/hitch-find...a+Fe&make=Hyundai&year=2014&hitchtype=trailer and out of this list the only Class 3 Hitch was Model # 13152 http://trailer-hitch.com/curt-2-inrdquo-receiver-class-3-hitch-p-13152.html. Does its specs make sense to you?

How do I select its compatble HITCH BALL & BALL MOUNT? Kindly help whenever you get time!

REPEATING AGAIN FEW QUERIES STATED on my above message:
