Low oil pressure after road trip on 2017 Santa fe AWD.

Santa Fe 2017 AWD shows oil light after a road trip. Oil was low and was topped. Low oil indicator still showing on breaking. Just got informed by the mechanic that the motor has to be replaced!

Did anyone experience a similar issue with this engine?

Have not heard that but seems like if there is no metal in your oil filter, maybe you might need a pressure switch or oil pump replaced. Replacing the engine seems servere. I would get another opinion. Good luck.
If the oil pump is bad, will it through a code? There was no check engine light, just the oil light.
Not sure if you get a code but in the past if the low pressure oil light would come on either the pump or pressure switch could be there. Does your car a low oil indicator? Again if your oil filter shows no metal debris why would you need an engine replacement. Is the engine noisy when running? I'm not a Hyundai technician but have owned a few. My son in law Sonata actually threw a rod and cracked the oil pan and locked up. Hyundai replaced his engine.
It turns out I have 2 psi for oil pressure. The dealership claims the 3.3L V6 engine type is not covered in the replacement program and hyundai is no longer making them! I guess it is time for me to part ways with Kia/Hyundai!
Well depending upon the mileage of your Santa Fe a new oil pump probably cost $1200 and not sure if anything else is worn. Either repair or purchase another i guess. Sad your engine was not covered as the other engines had issues and were replaced. Sorry

Is it true that Hyundai no longer makes the 3.3L V6 engines?

Why isn't your car, not a warranty under 10 years or a 100K drivetrain warranty?
Did you go over 100K mileage?
Did you buy the S.F. new or used?
