Are there any viable alternatives for replacing lost proximity keys other than the official one that will cost $440 plus tax in Canada.

There are many alternatives depending on your location. I am not 100% sure what is most readily available in Canada, however there are many in the lower 48. Here is a link to one that is very reliable for a very fair price:

Please note that programming is usually required by a dealer and the key itself will most likely need to be cut. That may also be a dealer only task depending on what is available in your area.

You can find the OEM Hyundai replacement on https://www.hyundaipartsdeal.com/ . In my mind, they have the best selection of OE parts and accessories. Their service and prices are unbeatable. They only ship within the U.S. however. You can try having it shipped to a freight forwarding service. Hope this helps.
