I was pleased to find this forum, as I intend to lease a Santa Fe in October when my current lease is up. (I'm on my second Hyundai Genesis 3.8L V6 lease right now).

Originally thinking about the Limited, I'm now inclined towards the Sport. Having had a look at one at Tustin Hyundai, I can't really justify the size of the Limited, but I'm concerned the 2.0L turbo is underpowered. I'll be following the various threads on this forum prior to making my decision!

Underpowered?

Underpowered? My 2.0T runs like a scared rabbit. I wouldn't worry about underpowered. The SFS has great low end torque too. I love the power of the vehicle. You need to take one for a test drive and you will see there is plenty of power there.

Thanks for that! I'll have to take that test drive! :D
Now remember not to compare the SFS to your Genesis 3.8L V6. It's like comparing apples to oranges. But if you want to compare apples to apples, it really is a good apple. You will never have any problems merging into traffic and passing other vehicles. It's a solid vehicle and you can tell it is well made. Plenty of room. I took a Ford Escape Titanium for a test drive and didn't like it nearly as much as the Santa Fe Sport. I also felt the SFS had more power than the Escape. Let me know what you think when you take a test drive.
Test Drive?

Hey Wordman, did you ever take the test drive in the SFS? Haven't heard from you in awhile and would like to know what you thought.

Not yet! My Genny lease expires in October, so I'm not in a huge rush. I've only seen one new SF on the streets around SoCal - it reminds me of the early Genny days.

I never rode in a Genesis, is it pretty powerful? My wife has a Lexus IS 350 and it flies. Like I said, the SFS 2.0T has great power for the type of vehicle that it is, but I would never compare it to a Lexus IS 350 or a Genesis 3.8
