Hi folks, new to forum looking for help.


I have a 2007 santa fe, with a fast blinking signal light. Bulb, right? nope. changed 3 different ones including switching left for right. The front bulb on the right side is dim when blinking (there are 2 filaments and only one lights up). The hazard swtich blinks everything at regular speed, but the right front is still dim. All other lights seem fine, just the right front is dim and the right signal flashes fast. I do have a trailer wired in, but nothing on the back end seems off. Is there a relay or switch? been going on 2 months and haven't found an issue. Mid level amateur but handle a wrench. any ideas?

Have you tried changing the bulb that is dim to see, may be it is defective. One other option would be to disconnect trailer if it is connected. My 2005 Nissan Frontier caused me a lot of headache while hooking up trailer wiring until I found a fuse box with two fusees in it that were controlling the trailer lights. Also if you have replaced OEM bulbs with LED bulbs that could cause a problem as some vehicle wiring utilize special type of LED bulbs. I would check for these first and then let us know what you find.

Dim bulb

A belated response but just in case someone else has this problem: its likely the dim bulb that's the culprit.

If you have the fast turn signal issue, check *all* the bulbs. Brakes, parking, turn signals - don't forget the third brake light and license plate bulbs!

It helps to check them at night in the dark. That's how I noticed that my driver's side front turn signal was on but at half brightness! Either the contact was dirty or one of the filaments was broken. Replacing the bulb did the trick.

I had same issue and resolved by slightly bending copper contact out a half millimeter or so. There are three contacts, but the silver colored ones looked OK, but the copper one was depressed a bit.
