Pretty well as much as I had guessed. Which dealership. I have a preorder at the Hyundai dealership near ikea and the superstore.Went to my dealership yesterday and was told the following information:
1. There were only 3 plug in hybrid Santa Fe's delivered to their dealership in all of 2022
2. There are a number of people who placed a deposit before the portal closed in Jan 2022 who are still waiting on their vehicles (this is verified by other posters in this thread)
3. They are expecting no more than 4 phev santa fe vehicles to be delivered to their dealership in 2023, if any at all, and which would obviously fill the pre-Jan 2022 orders first.
4. He claims Hyundai is stopping plug in hybrid manufacturing in the near future because it's too complicated and expensive - they will be streamlining their processes so they can focus on fully electric vehicle development moving forward, and in order to do so will only offer gas, hybrid, and electric very soon (no phev)
5. Apparently the Toyota dealership next door to theirs just recently did a huge wave of forced deposit refunds to remove people off their list because the wait is expected to be 5+ years. He mentioned they've slowly started doing the same too
6. My24 Santa Fe will be bigger and boxier, and will have a 3rd row (which has already been speculated from sneak peaks). This will likely only be offered in gas and hybrid
**he didn't say this directly, but when I pointed out that pulling away from phevs when they don't have anything to properly replace them with for suvs was a confusing move, he said the ionic 5 and 7 will be their electric suv models which replaces their need for phev suvs
I'm in the Greater Vancouver area.
