Hi, I have a question: Does the 2009 Santa Fe SE (3.5) have a cabin air filter ?
I could not find a reference to a cabin air filter in the owner's manual, so I am assuming the answer is problably "no."
Yes, It does. In order to replace it you open the glove compartment. there is a rod/hook system on the right side of the glove box, you gently pry it out with small screw driver. then there are two black plastic tabs with rubber stoppers that hold the glove box from coming down. you hold the glov box with one hand while you push on the black plastic tabs to release them. Once the box is released it sits further down. now look behind and you will see 4 tabs to on the top and two at the bottom. release those tabs gently to pull the tray out. (BE Very careful not to exert too much force or you will break it, as I did) then gently pull the tray out. You will see the square filter sits snug on this tray. squeeze/pull the paper filter out and replace with a new one. These in-cabin air filters can be purchased either from dealer at $23.00 or from Advance Auto/Autozone etc. for a bit cheaper. push the tray back and then re-assemble the glove box and you are done.
