I chose to use the update after the car is shut off and haven't driven it since the update so I don't know if there are any changes that would affect me. I don't know why people are still idling or driving around for half an hour or so while it updates when this method has worked for me for over a year. I download directly to a USB stick and the updates always download slowly for me too.
I was doing it with just accessory mode on, but will give it a try shutting everything down, and see what happens, especially since somebody on another forum mentioned it could take 1.5 hours this time. But will still connect the SF to a smart charger. Will do it Monday or Tuesday. Thanks for the tip.
I noticed a couple changes... The voice that tells you when you approach traffic and speed cameras is different... The auto hatch for those with power hatch is turned off after the update, the UI is a tad different, but otherwise I think this update was mainly for EV's - charge station locations and trip planning with charge stations on route.... not a need for the Santa Fe HEV.
Well no one is downloading anything at the moment (As of May 10, 2023) - This seems to happen from time to time. Hyundai servers tip over due to too many requests. They probably have the files stored on an old Dell XS486 with a 400Mhz processor and 8 Mb of ram.

So after the update I noticed a new symbol with radio. When radio is turned on.. beside the HD radio logo there is this orange "S" looking icon. When I click on it, it tells me something needs to be set up at mybluelink website. So I logged onto the mybluelink website but I still can't see what this "S" is for. Does anyone know?

The downloads are still unavailable as of May 11. I've read that Hyundai does this if bugs are reported in the update. They never give an explanation except that the downloads come back online a few days later.

I would recommend that when it does you download the update and try reinstalling it just to make sure there aren't any bugs in the release you managed to get.
For some reason....blue link registration emails appeared after doing the update....
Why would the power tailgate be disabled? That shouldn't have any relationship to the navigation/infotainment system. I would like to update mine before a planned Route 66 trip in June if it becomes available by then.

I wish i knew. But i usually have the auto tailgate option turned on. But after the update, it was turned off.

so, just to be clear, you can't re-enable it?

I did the update already, unfortunately. This is the 3rd update, and the 3rd time Hyundai does the same crap... and me too (updating soon after release). Next time will wait more to update. So will have to redo it for the 3rd time. I also have a long trip in mid June, so hope it's out by then, in case the bug is something nefarious. SF is sitting in the garage until then.

When you say that the UI is a "tad different", what do you mean? I've been very gun-shy about doing an upgrade since they threw that Nixie Tube skin on us a couple of years ago.

Thanks
I haven't had mine tell me if I'm approaching traffic/speed cams. Have I been lucky enough to miss them or is there a setting that I didn't see? I haven't done any upgrades/downloads yet due to negative comments about previous ones.

It jist seems a bit more refined. Nothing off the wall.
Stage 1 took 18 minutes and stage 2 took an hour and 20 minutes and that was upgrading from the previous most current version.

I have yet to notice anything new except an hour and fourty minutes of gas wasted idling during the update.

vehicle is Santa Fe preferred w/trend.

You don't even have to have 'accessory' on to do the update, let alone idling the engine. It tells you when starting that the update will continue even if you turn vehicle off... AND IT DOES. I just get it going in 'acc' mode, to make sure all is well, and when it starts the bar % counter, I turn ignition off. Then turn 'acc' back on every 1/2-hr or so to check, and it's updating just like if I had 'acc' or ignition on, so I can confirm 100% that it works. Still leave car hooked up to the charger when updating, but it discharges the battery way less with everything off. When I first updated the software with the 'buggy' version like 3 weeks ago, it took 1.5 hours. The other day it took just an hour with the just re-released version. So next time don't waste gas, nor carbonize your valves idling for that long. Ha ha.

No need to keep checking the progress. Bluelink will send a notification when the update finishes. I've done the last two updates with my Santa Fe off, left the USB stick in overnight, and it didn't run my battery down.

I am glad they are taking this approach now. In the past leaving the car running was pretty stupid…not to mention a waste of fuel. I mean, if you are updating while going somewhere i get it, but this solution makes better sense.
