Well, the curse of the theta got us. Starting a road trip for a vacation, 3 hrs from home driving through Birmingham, AL. Went to pass a slow car, pedal went to the floor, looked at the dash and everything was lit but the speedo was at 0. Knew I was in trouble because I had read about it before. Got it towed to dealer downtown, was told 1-2 weeks before they could look at it. After some hard prying and maybe a bit of luck, got a loaner. 1.5 weeks later, engine was in and installed. The timing and experience sucked, 2pm, stuck on interstate overpass, no a/c, and a 2.5 year old. Heavy traffic and 18-wheelers whizzing by. Got a Trooper to run interference so we wouldn't get slammed in the back. But now that it is over, feels pretty good to have a brand new long block in the SFS. I do appreciate Hyundai covering the replacement despite us being the second owner.
