I’ve read that some of you are remote starting your cars on cold mornings, while car is in the garage.
Maybe you’re already aware, but it doesn’t hurt to mention this - PLEASE BE SURE to have garage door OPEN, before starting any vehicle!
The carbon monoxide emitted from your vehicle could quickly build up and seep into your home, CAUSING CATASTROPHIC CONSEQUENCES (Death).
Never hurts to remind people of what seems obvious.
One other "technical" reminder for these internet controlled remote starters, you must have the Santa Fe LOCKED or the start will fail.
Common sense if on the street or in a parking lot or ramp, but at least in the garage I do not lock my cars. My old 07 Jeep GC FOB based remote starter did not require the car locked, it would lock it but of course did not work past about a block LOS. So for my Santa Fe I've learned the lock lesson, however the past 10+ days have been above normal for MN winter so not used the remote starter as much.
Amazing how 44 deg in late December seems like a "heat wave" :laugh
And today it's 40 but raining with chance of Tstorms. At least we barely had a white Christmas from the 7 inches snow we got Dec 1.
It would be great if the vehicle had a feature to detect it was in an enclosed area and failed to starts. Maybe using the backup sensors and forward camera.
